Music school Policies
Tuition is paid in advance for lessons. Monthly tuition will be the same amount whether there are three, four or five lessons in the month. Our tuition is based on an average of lessons received within the calendar year. Missed lessons will not be deducted from the tuition. If you terminate enrollment during months with three lessons no makeup or refund will be given for fourth lesson. If you terminate lessons during months with five lessons you are not charged for an extra lesson.
Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended. Students arriving late by more than half of their lesson period will be considered absent, and their instructor will be dismissed.
A 24 HOUR ADVANCED NOTICE (prior to your regularly scheduled lesson time) must be given in order to receive a make-up. No make-ups will be given for missed make-up or rescheduled lessons . Two make-up lessons per semester; Fall, Aug-Dec, Spring Jan-May, Summer June-July will be permitted (with 24 hour notice).
Makeups or reschedules can be face to face or online via zoom etc.
Make-up lessons must be taken the same semester lesson or lessons were missed. We do not carry over makeup lessons to another semester. If you have an emergency please contact your instructor.
It is our policy that no additional make-up lessons will be given. Missed lessons are non refundable and non transferable between family members, spouse, students, etc.
If a student wishes to discontinue study, a thirty day written notice is required. Notice will take effect on the first calendar day of the upcoming month. If written notice is given before the first lesson of the month tuition is charged for that month only. Withdraw forms can be downloaded from our printable forms section .
Telephone calls, emails, or simply telling your teacher does not constitute a written notice.

Instructor missed lesson-substitute new instructor
Due to unexpected circumstance, your instructor may be absent or replaced
( moving tour etc . )
The studio reserves the right to provide a qualified substitute for lessons missed. NTMA reserves the right to replace current instructor with a new equally qualified instructor.
Once a lesson time is established, it is important that we maintain his or her lesson time. One schedule change per semester; Fall, Aug-Dec, Spring Jan-May, and Summer June-July will be permitted at no additional charge. After the first change(per semester) a 25.00 fee per submittal form will incur.
A change of schedule form (ask teacher or office) must be submitted one week prior to any permanent change. This does not guarantee a time or day will be available (discuss with teacher).
We will follow the LISD official weather closing schedule.
Students will be invited for special make-ups which could include private or group lessons.
Parents are welcome to sit in and observe student lessons..
Make sure your family member makes it to their lesson and the teacher is present.
Do not drop your child off in the parking lot or leave them unattended in the waiting room.
North Texas Music Academy has the right to change policies, fees, or waivers with proper notice.
